Project Scope:
In collaboration with the Citizens Housing and Planning Council, a prominent research and advocacy organization specializing in housing and planning matters in New York City, our studio embarked on a comprehensive project. Our focus involved in-depth research into the legislative framework of New York City's housing conversion policies, affordable housing programs, and architectural practices. The objective was to identify and address impediments hindering the efficient conversion of offices to hotels. Utilizing spatial data analysis, we narrowed our investigation to three distinct office buildings in New York City, each representing different typologies. This approach aimed to showcase the diverse potential conversion models and contribute valuable insights to the broader discourse on urban development.
